The story follows Kingston, a giant, grumpy football player who is constantly getting into trouble. So, I liked a significant amount of this, but there was something off the whole time. There are too many references to Kingston’s womanizing past, too many times when he almost reverted back to that, and too many moments when Kingston gets vulnerable… only to be left hanging. This just had a really slow start for me, and it never fully recovered. The writing is solid and the suspenseful aspect adds a little something extra. His vulnerability and persistence are some of the best parts of the book – along with all of the smokin’ chemistry and plentiful conversation. I love a bad boy hero with a marshmallow heart, and Kingston definitely gets there somewhere along the way. releases next.It was never love for me with this one, but I did like it.
